Bruce Knobloch
 
Vice President

Mr. Knobloch is a Registered Professional Engineer with over twenty five years experience in engineering and engineering management programs. He is proficient in Code and Regulatory Compliance, including defense of project deliverables and possesses extensive communication skills, from project leadership and client interaction to authorship of project procedures, and publishing of technical documents. His experience in project planning and controls includes tracking of project deliverables to contract milestones, supervision and developmental evaluations for technical and support project personnel, preparation of engineering scoping documents, contract task packages, program budgets, schedules and status reports. He is experienced in field inspection and construction quality assessments. Mr. Knobloch is a Registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee and a Registered Structural Engineer (Inactive) in Illinois. He is a Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Technical publications include Steel Design for Engineers and Architects, (co-authored) Van Nostrand Reinhold, 1992 & 1982, and Deflection of Transversely Loaded Prestressed Circular Plates, (co-authored) ASCE Engineering Mechanics Division, 1979.

Mr. Knobloch has recently been involved in the Detailed Scoping and Estimating Project (DSEP) for completion of Watts Bar Nuclear Plant Unit 2, where his responsibilities included the benchmarking of current Unit 2 configuration, assessment of Unit 1 modifications for Unit 2 applicability, and scoping of Unit 1 Corrective Action Plan action items required for Unit 2 start-up. He is also involved in creation of Design Criteria Documents for a foreign reactor design to be licensed in the US.

He has provided services in the areas of engineering support and process assessments for heavy industrial, commercial utility industry and Department of Energy units in the Southeast and Midwest United States.

Mr. Knobloch had executive responsibility for the Marathon Consulting Group design office activities based near Knoxville, Tennessee which provided nuclear plant design solutions to Marathon’s clients and preparation of nuclear safety related design change packages under Marathon’s QA Program.

Earlier nuclear power industry consulting activities include extensive technical and program support for restart or performance improvement program activities at the DC Cook, Clinton, and Cooper nuclear power stations.

In addition, Bruce has performed engineering design, design verification, and construction verification work with a number of respected nuclear industry engineering firms. He was extensively involved in the engineering design and completion activities for Watts Bar nuclear unit 1.

He has supported FEMA as a Project Officer in Southern Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina, and also has been a principal of a startup firm formed to design and provide emergency flood mitigation systems.

Bruce has an M.S., (Engineering Materials, Geotechnical Design, Construction Management) and a Bachelor of Architecture degree (Architectural Design, Technology, Engineering), both from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

He has been registered as a Professional Engineer in the states of Tennessee (current) and Illinois.
